This is embarrassing! Two problems at once! This one's really critical.
I use dial-up and this morning, my previous subscription having lapsed, switched to a new ISP. Now, I can't access my Hotmail account via OutlookExpress, which otherwise seems to be working just fine. Following are the messages I get. Your help with this one too would be greatly appreciated.
In the very short run, I can use the Explorer to work with the messages on the Hotmail server. Unfortunately, I need to download those messages, then move them to another account, in order to empty my Hotmail account while at the same time archiving those messages.
If I create a new identity or delete the existing Hotmail account from OutlookExpress, I'll lose the messages (both sent and received) which haven't yet been moved to the other account I mentioned, and therefore aren't susceptible to being archived. OutlookExpress won't let you move, delete or export Hotmail messages unless you're connected to the Hotmail server.
I recall seeing something, quite some time ago, to the effect that you could configure OutlookExpress to access your account at Hotmail.com as a Pop3 account via MSN or Microsoft.com, but haven't been able to find the details again. I suppose that might resolve the problem, if that information could be found again.
Any other thoughts, please let me know.
Thanks again,
SRS
