The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is not only the same Galaxy S4, it carries a protection rating of IP67 which means it’s protected from dust and can withstand being submerged in water up to three feet deep for 30 minutes. Samsung has also swapped out the same 5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and the same 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 2,600mAh battery.

With a water-resistant casing and a comfortable, attractive design, Samsung's Galaxy S4 Active is a strong option for outdoorsy -- and clumsy -- types. Just don't expect all the bells and whistles of the original Galaxy S...

Don't buy this expecting it to be fool proof. It's not. It's great for those that get wet a lot but it won't last long down the site. Nice phone but more tough guy mouth than actual hard nut...

When we've tested S4, the thing that we disliked the most was that it resembled its predecessor, SIII, too much. S4 Active is what we were hoping to see, an S4 version that looks differently and has interesting capabilities, for example, being...

With all things said, the Galaxy S4 Active remains a pretty interesting option especially for those people looking for a smartphone that will fit their worry-free lifestyle. If you liked the Galaxy S4 or has grown accustomed to Samsung's design...

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active finds itself a little in no mans land, and it's a difficult one for us to recommend outright. If you're in the market for a super powerful smartphone which you can take on extreme activities, swimming and in the bath then...

The Galaxy S4 Active's anti-shock, waterproof and dustproof body, plus the processing power, responsiveness and TouchWiz features of the original S4, make it a choice device for adventurous, outdoorsy types. However, for a phone designed to take photos...

Ever wanted a Samsung Galaxy S4, but worried about damaging it? How about a water-proof and dust-proof version? That’s the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is a great phone but its flimsy plastic case may lead you to believe it won’t...

The Galaxy S4 Active is a device that certainly lives up to the “Galaxy S” name and is worthy of appropriate recognition. There are a couple of minor disappointments with the device though. The hit and miss underwater/wet hands use is a let down, and...

With the launch of the Sony Xperia Z at the beginning of the year, Sony bought about a new era in mobile technology by combining premium high-end specs with rugged dust and waterproof features. When Samsung launched their Galaxy S4 flagship earlier this...

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active makes some small sacrifices in display resolution, camera, and weight, but its water resistance factor and a sturdier feeling build make it more appealing than the regular Galaxy S4 in many...

As a smartphone, the S4 Active is every bit as impressive a performer as the S4 proper, but the dust and waterproofing are handy additional features especially as they have been achieved without plugging up the audio jack or locking the battery in...

The Galaxy S4 Active is a phone you can get wet. Seriously wet. Is that all there is to this updated Galaxy S4?Hang on, wasn't it just a few months ago that Samsung launched the Galaxy S4?Yeah, it was. I shot this video at the Australian launch, and that...

The latest craze in mobile devices is waterproof/rugged devices, a trend that was arguably kicked off by Sony with the launch of the Sony Xperia Z earlier this year. As we've seen over the last few years, Samsung believe there is a Galaxy smartphone for...

Samsung is certainly flogging the S4 brand as far as it can. Multiple configurations of the original device, plus the Mini, the Zoom and the Active give us a group of products that don't all share the same design language and don't all share the same...

Everyone has heard a story about a piece of electronics taking a jump in the drink, only to have it emerge broken and useless, fried to death in the process. It happens with smartphones often enough for it to be a horror story, and Samsung seems...

However the overall feel gives the impression this is far more durable than it actually is, with the rubber bands on either end nothing more than window dressing. If you’re looking for a Galaxy device with less reliance on plastic, yet that still has a bit of oomph in terms of power, this is a great pick.

At the same pricepoint as the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 Active also gives you nearly all the best features and performs as well as the S4. Including 4G, NFC, and HD display, and then in addition, you get a tough handset that will...

Despite it gaining an IP67 rating, I'm not convinced that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is the phone to choose if you are looking for a rugged handset. Try the fully sealed Sony Xperia Z as an alternative before taking the plunge (so to speak). Samsung...
