The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is the best Android smartwatch you can buy. It has an excellent screen, great fitness tracking and options, and decent battery life if you fiddle with the settings. But it’s still annoying you need a Samsung phone to use every feature.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic lives up to its name. It's big and bold as a classic wearable should be but the 47mm model we tested is almost too big and heavy. It's a great sleep companion if you don't mind not sleeping. A least the looks, sensors, and overall operation are top-notch. It even has surprisingly good battery life. Is the bezel and this size necessary? No. Would we recommend the smaller, lighter 43mm model? Probably.

The Watch6's capabilities are fairly robust, and Samsung has been improving the app to make all the data the smartwatch collects easier to parse. However, I still think hardcore fitness folks using Android phones will want to stick to fitness trackers from the likes of Garmin. Anyone who prioritizes design (me) will probably keep the gorgeous Pixel Watch on their wrist, and if you want the absolute best battery life on a Wear OS watch, then Mobvoi's TicWatch Pro 5 beats out Samsung. Then again, no one else has a bezel that rotates. Tick-tick-tick-tick.

More feature-rich than ever and now finally with a new chipset, not to mention the more than adequate battery life, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is the perfect wearable if you're a Samsung enthusiast. To those, I'd definitely recommend the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic feels comfortable on the wrist, offers an broad range of health, activity, and sleep tracking metrics, and integrates well with Android phones. If you have a Galaxy smartphone and you utilize Samsung SmartThings, you'll gain a few extra ecosystem benefits, but it's nothing so major that it'll make other Android users feel left out.

Ultimately, I think I just remain a bit surprised that for as many resources as Samsung has as a company, the watch lineup continues to get seemingly little internal attention. It receives very minor updates each year, and has seen only tiny improvements in accuracy over its numerous editions. Compare that to Apple, Google/Fitbit, Garmin, Huawei, and plenty of others who have poured in tons of new features and functionality into their watches, as well as dramatically increased accuracy over the last few years.
