Power Consumption & Temperatures

Power consumption levels on the Radeon HD 5670 were in line with those of the Radeon HD 4670. We were disappointed to see it consumed only 4% less power than the Radeon HD 4770 when under load, despite often being up to 20% slower. In general, consumption levels for the Radeon HD 5670 were quite low, but given its performance disadvantages the card's efficiency did not strike us.

As one of the few single slot graphics cards featured in the list above, it wasn't surprising to find the Radeon HD 5670 running a little hotter than most. The idle temperature of 40 degrees is average for a budget card, though it is certainly well within acceptable parameters.
