Benchmarks: Transfer Performance

When running our single large file on-disk file copy test the WD Black 4TB impressed us with a transfer speed of 90.2MB/s, making it 4% faster than the WD Red 3TB and 8% faster than the WD RE 1TB. Meanwhile it was 25% slower than the Velociraptor and 73% slower than the SSD.

The WD Back 4TB did exceptionally well in our program copy test with a transfer speed of 57.7MB/s, making it 2% faster than the Velociraptor 1TB and 7% faster than the WD Red 3TB. That said it was still 48% slower than the SSD.

Again the WD Black 4TB performed well sustaining 71.9MB/s in our game copy test, making it just 11% slower than the Velociraptor 1TB but 10% faster than the WD Red 3TB.
