The Das Keyboard 4 was announced in March 2014 and stays true to its roots in terms of aesthetics and its 104-key layout. The latest Das offers a new oversized volume knob and dedicated media controls on the top right side just above the number pad. Media controls include buttons to play, rewind and fast-forward as well as a mute button and another to put the computer to sleep.

Having used the Das Keyboard for nearly five years now, I found that multimedia control keys were the only thing I missed on the product sometimes back in 2011. When I need to transcribe a long phrase told during certain conference calls or presentations, I need to quickly pause the audio, which is inconvenient to do with a mouse. Now it looks like this drawback has been fixed.
