The iPhone 5C replaces the iPhone 5 with nearly identical tech specs, a plastic-based exterior and 5 color choices, a first in the iPhone family. The 5C features the same 4" Retina display, A6 CPU, 8-megapixel rear iSight camera, a new front-facing FaceTime HD camera with better low light support, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a higher capacity battery and support for more LTE bands.

By Kyle Schurman While there are a lot of things to like about the Apple iPhone 5c, whether its iSight camera is one of those things will depend on your perspective. This smartphone's camera is a simplistic model that will make it easy to shoot basic...

Editor's note: The iPhone 5c was released 6 months ago today. Since I've been using the iPhone 5s almost exclusively since then I wanted someone else, someone who's been using the iPhone 5c day in and day out, to write the follow up for Apple's other new...

Picking a smartphone is tough as the market is saturated and it's a long term commitment. Contracts with devices included range from 12 months to 24 months so you have to choose wisely. With the major mobile manufacturers gearing up to launch their 2014...

Here's how I see it, Apple had to make a choice with the iPhone 5C: either to go cheap and sell big in the sub-£200 sector or to keep it premium and offer a more polished device at a slightly reduced price point compared to the new flagship. Apple went...

Apple's iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C handsets have been on the market since last September, and have - according to Apple's first quarter 2014 earnings - been pretty popular, with the firm having shifted 51 million iPhones in three months. Now that several...

Moto X vs iPhone 5C: Price Here's why we are making this comparison: the Moto X is Motorola's current flagship smartphone , but it has a mid-range £350 inc VAT price tag for the 16GB model. The iPhone 5C is the cheaper of Apple's current smartphones ,...

This year, Apple shocked everyone with the announcement of the iPhone 5c. We all knew the phone was coming; there had been a multitude of leaked parts before the announcement. The shock came from the 5c's price. Apple's ‘budget' handset wasn't much...

Nexus 5 vs iPhone 5C: Size, weight, design The iPhone 5c is in essence the iPhone 5, but in a polycarbonate plastic casing. That makes it a little bigger and heavier than its predecessor, albeit only slightly. The iPhone 5C measures 59 x 124 x 9 mm...

Every year since 2007, Apple has released one new iPhone at a time. But this year marked the company's first foray into multiples, with the colorful iPhone 5c joining Apple's lineup as the flagship iPhone 5s' sidekick. Is a new look reason enough to buy...

All in all the iPhone 5C is a pretty impressive phone. It has a top flight screen and solid specs, plus it’s one of the more affordable ways to get your hands on iOS 7 and Siri. However it’s not that affordable as it starts at around £469, for...

Given the slight £80 drop in price over the iPhone 5s, Apple is asking you to make a fair few compromises with the iPhone 5c, not least accepting last year’s processor and camera tech. The lack of a fingerprint scanner is also a shame, although the bold...

The iPhone 5c puts a colorful twist on the excellent phone we know and love, but the price point isn’t appealing enough to shrug off the powerful iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 5c is more than just a cosmetic upgrade once you look beyond the vibrant shell. It is easy to dismiss the phone by saying that the upgrade is like putting lipstick on a pig but we’d refrain from doing that. The phone combines the power of...

Buying Guide Best camera phone We should be comparing the iPhone 5C against the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini, but thanks to that hefty price tag Apple has slapped on its plastic clad handset we can't as it's already priced itself out of that...

Well this should be a familiar comparison! On one side of the ring, we have the almighty Samsung Galaxy S4, the Android smartphone that’s arguably the best that the platform has to offer. And on the other side, we have the refreshed version of the...

Apple's iPhone 5C and iPhone 5 handsets are admittedly not very different from one another. Both sport 4in Retina displays, Apple A6 processors and run the firm's iOS 7 mobile operating system, so you might ask why we're bothering to compare the two...

My other general bit of advice is that you always go with the best technology you can afford. In this case, it's the iPhone 5s. If you're an iPhone 4s owner, that's absolutely the route you should go. Because the iPhone 5c is basically just an iPhone 5...

The Apple iPhone 5c is a good smartphone. It has a pleasant design that's nice to use and handle, an excellent screen and good general performances. However, it's hard to recommend this repainted iPhone 5 over the higher-end iPhone 5s which, although it...

Many will no doubt be tempted by one of the new devices but with iPhone 5S stocks low and prices high, the iPhone 5C could prove enticing. Furthermore, coupled with its lower price is the fact the device comes in a raft of bold, brash colours, which...
