And it's brilliant for accessing and sharing non-media files on any device. We'd still like to see a way to get MyCloud backed up without having to get hold of a separate hard drive and doing it yourself. Backup is always best effective when it's automated.80

The My Cloud is a remarkable three-in-one device that somehow gives a bloody nose to backup storage, NAS drives and Cloud storage in a single blow. It looks great, is easy to use, keeps quiet and performance is mind blowing. WD still has work to do on its PC app, particularly to support media streaming, and multi-drive models are needed to add data redundancy, but make no mistake this is a landmark device.90

The WD My Cloud is a fast, efficient, and easy-to-use NAS for home users who want to store and access their content from a variety of devices and places. WD has done an excellent job taking the My Cloud from setup to usability with a suite of apps with as few steps as possible, really making this NAS as close to plug and play as may be possible.80

And the best part? The My Cloud costs little more than Western Digital's My Book hardware. The 2TB version costs just $150, while the 3TB and 4TB editions carry respective price tags of $180 and $250.80

And considering everything that the My Cloud does do, that criticism becomes a small detail. If you need storage that’s available from just about everywhere, and you don’t want to rely on a third-party cloud service to provide it, WD’s My Cloud is a brilliant solution.80

Western Digital's My Cloud has a gorgeous design and is a practically foolproof NAS for the home, with breathtaking performance. It's only weaknesses are a rather limited cloud interface and a lack of support for printers on its USB port.80
