Looking at the overall features and performance, the WD My Cloud 2TB is a pretty good single drive NAS setup. The storage performs well within the limitation of the TCP/IP protocol, Windows and/or Mac backups are reliable and cloud access is functional,...

It's more than a little disingenuous to call WD's latest storage product the ‘My Cloud'. Touted as a “cloud of your own” in the marketing bumpf, it's really no different than many other internet accessible NAS devices we've reviewed in the past. Which...

Putting storage in ‘the cloud’ back under users’ control is Western Digital’s aim. And not just the few gigabyte that usual suspects like Dropbox offer – we’re talking terabytes. The WD My Cloud is – shush – just another name for a NAS drive at home...

I saw this at a recent event which was itself ‘In The Cloud’ as 27 floors up on a misty damp day is certainly in the clouds. However while this storage and backup package lives in your home or office, not as ‘The Cloud’ often means far...

Over the last few years, the concept of cloud storage has been growing rapidly around the globe. As you may imagine, there are a large number of applications for cloud storage, be it for a small set of personal files that are kept on the likes of Dropbox...

The WD MyCloud Personal Cloud Storage device is a very cool concept that has been well executed. It's simple enough for a novice to setup, but has loads for the more technically inclined to play with. The price is right too, since it's priced only...

At this point it might have become clear we're big fans, and that's because we are. It has all but replaced Dropbox for us because the capacity is so much greater for the price; it replaced a media server, because it allowed us to stream media...

And it's brilliant for accessing and sharing non-media files on any device. We'd still like to see a way to get MyCloud backed up without having to get hold of a separate hard drive and doing it yourself. Backup is always best effective when it's automated.

The MyCloud is an extremely useful box, especially when it comes to backup. But we can't help but think there's a missing link with that – we'd love to see the contents of our NAS drive being backed up to the actual cloud automatically for a fee. After...

The My Cloud is a remarkable three-in-one device that somehow gives a bloody nose to backup storage, NAS drives and Cloud storage in a single blow. It looks great, is easy to use, keeps quiet and performance is mind blowing. WD still has work to do on its PC app, particularly to support media streaming, and multi-drive models are needed to add data redundancy, but make no mistake this is a landmark device.

The WD My Cloud is a fast, efficient, and easy-to-use NAS for home users who want to store and access their content from a variety of devices and places. WD has done an excellent job taking the My Cloud from setup to usability with a suite of apps with as few steps as possible, really making this NAS as close to plug and play as may be possible.
