2560x1600 High Performance
Testing at the maximum resolution of 2560x1600, we found that the GeForce GTX 480 is still amazingly fast, suffering just a 10% decrease in performance when compared to the 1440x900 results. The GeForce GTX 470 dropped to 34fps, but that is still sufficient. The GeForce GTX 460 also scrapes by with an average of 31fps, while the Radeon HD 5870 dropped to 29fps.
Beyond that, the frame rate starts to decrease quite rapidly with the Radeon HD 5850 averaging just 25fps and the 5830 a meager 22fps. At this extreme resolution, the GeForce GTX 460 still stands tall, delivering the best balance of performance and value to Civilization V players.
