Benchmarks: Far Cry 2, Aliens vs. Predator
Crossfire technology scales quite poorly in Far Cry 2 and as a result the Radeon HD 6990 was just 28% faster than a single Radeon HD 6970 while it was 4% slower than the HD 6970 Crossfire configuration. The advantages of the Radeon HD 6000 series also go largely unnoticed in this game as the HD 6990 was just 8% faster than the HD 5970.
The Aliens vs. Predator performance heavily favors the Radeon HD 6990 and HD 6970 Crossfire cards as the technology scales very well here. The Radeon HD 6990 was 6% slower than the HD 6970 Crossfire cards but it was also 47% faster than the HD 5970, 56% faster than the GeForce GTX 580 and 67% faster than the HD 6970.
