Doom III is topping worldwide sell-through charts, and was Number 1 in the UK for weeks ending August 14 and August 21.

Supply and demand are forever seeking equilibrium, with a surge in demand for Athlon processors causing a supply shortage in the channels in Taiwan, China and Europe. Such a shortage will make it more difficult for AMD to boost its market share since rival Intel.

The MPAA has sued two chipmakers for selling DVD chips to companies that are flouting copy-protection rules. This is the second lawsuit to target DVD makers and is part of an ongoing campaign to stop the transgressions of Hollywood-approved copy protection measures, which were so set in stone back when DVD originally appeared.
