The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a federal criminal probe of piracy on a peer-to-peer network
, suspected of enabling users to traffic illegally in music, films, software and published works.
The network in question are the Underground Network
. Five homes and one ISP in three different states have been searched by Federal agents, under "Operation Digital Gridlock". No charges have yet been filed, but it doesn't take a member of Mensa to work out that this portends really bad stuff for similar networks in the future.
