Ubuntu Linux has been getting lots of folks excited. It concentrates on tightly selected bleeding edge packages to focus the distribution on a single CD, and there is never any charge for the OS, never any extra fee for the "enterprise edition" or some such - its all available to you for nought. With a new release every six months, and 18 month support per release, I really recommend giving it a go. The current Ubuntu release supports Intel x86 (IBM-compatible PC), AMD64 (Hammer) and PowerPC (Apple iBook and Powerbook, G4 and G5) architectures.

    Quite interesting. I'm in the lookout for a worthy distribution right now as I don't I will keep beating the dead horse aka my FC2 install.Have you tried it ? (not FC2 but Ubuntu I mean)
