Global IT vendor community is needed to combat hacking threat

"Customers worldwide, both at home and at work, have told us that they need help minimizing the risk of malicious threats, and we believe this calls for the global IT community to band together to address these needs." - Rich Kaplan, corporate vice president of Microsoft's Security Business & Technology Unit.

Speaking at the RSA Conference Europe 2004 in Barcelona, Microsoft have made it clear that a unified strategy that includes many other IT vendors is the only way to achieve proper and lasting security in the computing world. Microsoft have already announced a partnership with Cisco Systems with the shared aim of making their respective security architectures more interoperable. But this is only the beginning in their quest to create an IT community committed to security. More here
