Microsoft to block updates for pirated XP copies

New features implemented by Microsoft in upgrades to Windows XP will specifically prevent users of pirated keys from upgrading parts of the operating system. The new anti-piracy features will prevent pirated copies of XP from downloading anything but the most critical downloads. China, the Microsoft piracy capital of the world, it seems, will be the first to get the treatment, before Europe gets it too some time in the New Year.
