Intel and Linksys standard for streaming content

Intel and Linksys will jointly support a standard for streaming content from online and on demand services. Media adaptors will be able to push Internet content around the house, using DTCP-IP, so that media can be shown on many devices, using the Wireless G Media Link.

This could mean, for example, that those snaps of babe booths you took in Old Taipei could be used to shock your granny into silence while she was watching Emmerdale or doing her home shopping on QVC.

According to Linksys, other vendors will only be able to support video clips or home movies. The link will also work with HD TVs and is likely to support content for HD when it’s available.
