Gateway has launched a new series of wide-screen notebook PCs, destined for US customers. The notebooks include the 3018GZ, which features Intel's Celeron M processor, a 14.1-inch WXGA wide-screen display, full-size keyboard, wireless connectivity and CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive. This notebook is priced at $999.99.

Similarly, we have the 4024GZ and 4540GZ systems, slightly heavier than the 3018GZ, but with Pentium M or Celeron M processors, and featuring DVD+/-RW drive, one IEEE 1394 and four USB 2.0 connections and a 15-inch TFT XGA display. These laptops are priced at $1,049.99 (starting price.)

Finally, we have the 7422GX and 7320GZ, with some serious mobile hardware in them. The CPU is either a mobile Pentium 4 processor or AMD's Athlon 64bit 3400+ processor. Other features include double-layer DVD+/-R/RW multiformat drive with storage capacity of 8.5GB for the 7422GX and DVD+/-R/RW multiformat drive for the 7320GZ. These cool notebooks have a WXGA 15.4-inch wide-screen display, and prices start at $1,199.99.
