Fonix Speech, who worked on the technology that allows Xbox games to have voice recognition in them, will be continuing that role when they work on bringing the technology to the new Xbox 360. Games such as Rainbow Six 3 and its expansion, Ghost Recon 2, use the technology from Fonix Speech in their games to great effect, and now the tech will find its way into new titles such as the forthcoming Rainbow Six: Lockdown and Delta Force: Black Hawk Down.

"By incorporating Fonix's speech recognition technology into our Xbox 360 development kit, game developers can give players a fun and natural way of interacting with their games." - Microsoft's program manager for Audio and Voice Technologies Brian Schmidt.
