Mutiple news from the Apple over the past few days. Let's get started with iTunes Music Store's countdown to 500 million songs sold. Every 100-thousandth download wins an iPod mini and 50 free songs. And if you download the 500-millionth song, you get to win 10 iPod players, 10,000 free songs and a trip for 4 to see Coldplay.

While on the iPod topic, Apple has also announced a discount on its iPod battery replacement program if you are having issues with the device's battery life. The discount takes the replacement battery cost to $59, however the promotion only runs at retail store locations.

Finally, Forbes feeds the rumor mill saying that Apple may be considering entering the cell phone market and offer wireless telephone service in the US later this year. It's a known fact that Apple is currently developing a hybrid iPod/cell phone with Motorola, however offering wireless service would be a much bolder move.
