Although we had a tentative release date a few weeks ago, details weren't set in stone for ATI's release of Crossfire. The date is set now, though, and on September 24th, consumers and vendors will be able to get their mitts on Crossfire capable cards for the first time. Retail cards from ATI affiliates will follow soon after, from companies like Sapphire. Crossfire is ATI's answer to nVidia's SLI. So far nVidia has been getting the dual GPU market all to themselves. With Crossfire out, we'll get to see how the boards directly compare in terms of performance with multiple video cards.
