Supermicro offers AMD

By Justin Mann on October 10, 2005, 2:55 PM
Supermicro, well known for their integrated server solutions that have in the past been a token Intel offering, have started to include other CPUs and will now be offering AMD64 and Opteron platforms for their customers. Supermicro makes highly configurable, ready-to-go rackmount servers, and are popular amount systems integrators. A wider profile for them to offer makes good market sense.

“We strive to build solutions based on leading innovative and reliable technology, and by adding AMD64 technology into our portfolio of offerings, we are able to significantly broaden the choices available to our customers,”
Supermicro will also offer, like the majority of their current Intel CPU and chipset offerings, mainboards using AMD chipsets, offering 'complete' solutions.
