BlueScanner has been released - a free Windows-based Bluetooth scanner which works with commonly available Bluetooth adapters.

Every ten seconds, BlueScanner scans radio frequencies for Bluetooth devices. The devices can be sorted by location, type and service. The program can categorize devices into types such PDAs, Cell-phones, Headsets. In addition, BlueScanner will discover most of the available services on the device.
The software has been released by Network Chemistry to increase awareness about Bluetooth security. According to the company, engineers at Network Chemistry can easily find dozens to hundreds of devices in an hour. The tool was released yesterday and is available on bluescanner.org.
