Windows Server 2003 R2 is to be released to manufacturing by the end of the year, Microsoft has revealed. There had been the possibility of a delay into 2006, but this has now been discounted by the software giant, who claims to be on target. R2 offers many enhancements and new features, including Active Directory Federation Services, better branch office support and vastly enhanced UNIX integration features.
