Samsung, Hynix and Infineon settle DRAM price-fixing case

Looks like price-fixing was a bigger issue than many, including myself, imagine. In the lawsuits involving many DRAM manufacturers and accusations of price fixing, three companies are paying large fees to settle the case. Samsung, Hynix and Infineon will be paying $67 Million, $73 Million and $20.75 Million, respectively, though Hynix's settlement is not yet approved. They aren't the only ones in the hot seat, either, with other manufacturers such as Micron, Elpida, Nanya, Winbond and NEC are all potential targets as well. Ouch to them, and better business next time, though short jail sentences and large fees may have been worth it to some of them, depending on how much they made by artificial price gouging.
