Foxconn denies accusations of poor working conditions
Following up on Apple's promise to investigate claims of labor abuse in Chinese factories, Foxconn has made a statement that blatantly denies all such accusations. According to Foxconn, the report was flawed(misreporting some figures, including the number of workers) and that the company adheres fully to Chinese labor laws.
He maintained that Foxconn, as an international company, abides by the employment law in China, which stipulates that the minimum wage for a worker in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone is 810 yuan (US$101) a month, and 700 yuan outside the special economic zone, Ding added.
They also claim they are working to improve worker conditions. With a workforce of 160,000 people worldwide, Foxconn is no small company by any stretch of the term, and would have a lot to lose if a scandal broke out.
