IBM buys security company for $1.3 Billion
IBM has been making a lot of fuss the past few years as they transform their company. They have been focusing a lot on data security, and to bolster that they have recently announced the acquisition of security company Internet Security Systems. For a deal totaling $1.3 Billion, IBM will use the smaller company to enhance their security solutions for corporate customers:
"This acquisition will help IBM to provide companies with access to trained experts and leading-edge processes and technology to evaluate and protect against threats and enforce security policies," said Val Rahmani, general manager of infrastructure management services at IBM Global Services.
Everyone needs security these days, or at least that's the impression being put on us. With the increasing amount of trust we place in online transactions and the wide availability of this information, they are probably right. On top of consulting services, IBM will also be enhancing the amount of provided services, such as data relocation.
