So today it was made official. Google has decided to buy YouTube. A decision which many laud, including some large companies that are looking forward to expanding their horizons. Despite that, Mark Cuban, one of the most vocally opposed to such a task, has claimed that Google is quite crazy for purchasing the site. In a blurb from earlier today, Cuban gave his well-wishes and then warned of a dire future ahead if Google should not be able to keep up the legal fight:

if Google gets nailed one single time for copyright violation, there are going to be more shareholder lawsuits than Doans has pills to go with the pile-on copyright suits that follow. Think maybe how Google discloses what they perceive the copyright risk to be in the SEC filings might be an interesting read?
Last week, Cuban expressed his opinion on YouTube, calling it a bad investment. Google has always been known as a company shooting for the underdog, though, and their success is proof that a company based on free services can do more than just make it. As he goes on, he does make some good points regarding the potential for Google, Sony, UMG and others to try and sell content already available for free. The latter end of it was laced with sarcasm, maybe a bit of frustration, but it's a very interesting read.
