OpenOffice users everywhere are getting presents a bit early this year, as the 2.1 update to the suite has been released. This update is fairly significant, bringing with it a host of new features and expanded support, along with a laundry list of fixed bugs. One of the biggest additions is expanded native support for 64bit environments, becoming increasingly more common as most desktop processors support it. You can read the full release notes at the OpenOffice site, and you can download it here. The Windows installer is 91MB to 140MB, the Linux installer is 120MB.

And, of course, the OpenOffice suite is free.
