A call to end DRM in the U.K. has failed, after over 1400 people rallied their voices in support of such an action. The U.K. Government, while rejecting the idea of banning DRM, did make a statement that it could undermine consumer rights, showing that at least some in Government are aware that it isn't necessarily a good thing. However, the statement had obvious signs of doublespeak, showing that to the masses it is still probably something misunderstood. Regardless, the very fact that Governments are paying attention to the issue leaves a lot of room open for action in the future.
