Intel adds two new processors to upcoming lineup
According to a report by DailyTech, Intel has released information of two new processors as part of its latest roadmap, while details remain limited at the moment, it is being suggested the upcoming Yorkfield-based Core 2 Extreme will sport a 1333MHz front-side bus and will clock in at higher than 3GHz speeds.
The quad-core processor supports Intel VT, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep and Intel 64 and Execute Disable Bit technologies. Intel leaves TXT technology out of the 45nm Core 2 Extreme however.
Another Core 2 Duo E4000-sequence processor is set to be released in Q4 2007 and will clock in at 2.4GHz with an 800MHz front-side bus. According to the report the Core 2 Duo E4600 should hit the market at $133 per unit in 1,000 unit quantities, while the existing Core 2 Duo E4500 will drop down to $113.
