Microsoft heads back to FCC with redesigned device
MS and the others on the development team for a “white space” Internet device are moving very quickly. Despite being rejected just two weeks ago, they are already preparing to head back to the FCC with a redesign of their device. On top of that, they apparently are also disputing what the FCC found last time, in how the device interacts with existing spectrum being used.
Regardless, it is unlikely the FCC will budge on their requirements, and development of this device will likely have to cater to what they demand. According to the article, one of the flaws in the device has already been corrected. They are moving quite fast – I wonder if they intend to release something within the next year, rather than this being years or more off.
