Xbox 360 owners may remember earlier this year Epic released the Hidden Fronts Map Pack for the very popular 360-exclusive Gears of War, featuring new maps and a new multiplayer mode. With nearly 500,000 downloads to date, the Hidden Fronts pack has become the most downloaded premium content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. And starting today, this very content will be available for download worldwide free of charge.

Gears of War has sold more than four million copies worldwide and has already dethroned Halo 2 as the biggest online game available on Xbox Live. The free pack comes ahead of the November launch of the game on Windows Vista and XP PC platforms, which will include three new exclusive maps, a new multiplayer mode, game editor, five new campaign chapters, and DirectX 10 support.
