Intel to cut IT staff by 10%?

Despite Intel's stunning success the past few years, particularly against AMD with gains in the desktop market and the launch of many new products, it seems they will be laying off a lot of people. According to a recent report, Intel will be shafting another 10% of their IT staff, making this the third year in a row they cut employees.

It's really a shame for the workers at Intel, and with the company still making a profit overall I wonder how far they really have to go. The workers are being cut in the name of efficiency. Last year, Intel cut management back as well, with 1000 management employees being axed.
