RIM sees tremendous profit

Even though RIM has suffered a few setbacks in recent times, such as a very costly lawsuit and a nasty network outage last month, the company and their products are doing very well. Research In Motion is claiming they have more than doubled the amount of cash they have brought in compared to a year ago, almost all of which is due to the infamous BlackBerry series.

They certainly have their market carved out nicely, with business professionals around the world finding the units indispensable. They are trying to reach out to the general consumer market with some of their newer units which may put them in more direct competition with companies like Motorola and Apple. According to RIM, there are 10.5 million BlackBerry subscribers currently.
