AMD expands TV Wonder product line
AMD announced today that they will be giving their TV Wonder line a refresh. The TV Wonder 650 USB, TV Wonder 600 PCI and TV Wonder 600 PCI Express series units are now all supported under Vista with a plethora of features. The big one AMD is identifying this time is HDTV support, whether over the air or across the wire. With ClearQAM support, the tuner will be able to pick signals up that are unencrypted:
ATI TV Wonder 650 Combo USB, with a manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) of $149, includes two TV tuners allowing users to watch and record off-the-air Digital TV/HDTV, unencrypted Digital TV (ClearQAM) cable programming, analog TV, and listen to FM broadcasts. TV Wonder 600 PCI and TV Wonder 600 PCI Express TV tuners break new ground by offering ClearQAM at a value of $99 MSRP.
The press release doesn't mention specific release dates but does specify that VisionTek will be offering the units.
