Apple updates MacBooks to Santa Rosa
Rumors were rampant earlier this week about an impending update to the Apple MacBook, after files discovered inside Mac OS X Leopard's system folders hinted at an upgrade to Intel’s Santa Rosa platform and a healthy GMA X3100 video bump from the previous GMA 950.
Now, those rumors have been made official after Apple quietly updated the MacBook product page to show the aforementioned hardware upgrades. The new MacBook uses the Santa Rosa chipset which boasts a faster 800MHz front side bus over the previous MacBook models, and is available now starting at $1,099 for the 2GHz, 80GB white model on up to $1,499 for the 2.2GHz, 160GB black model.
