OLPC extends giving campaign through December 31
Though Nicholas Negroptone's OLPC Buy One, Give One program was originally planned as a two-week offer set to run from November 12 through November 26, the non-profit organization has decided to extend the program through the end of the year due to “an outpouring of support from the public” in the past ten days.
The program, which has been officially renamed “Give One, Get One,” is reportedly averaging about $2 million worth of donations each day – though only half of that will actually go to children in developing countries in the form of XO laptops. Moreover, bulk buying is now available to schools in quantities of 100-999 at $299 each, 1000-9999 at $249 each, and 10,000 and up at $199 each. You can read the full press release here.
