Six Apart sells LiveJournal
LiveJournal may not have been the best investment in the world for Six Apart, who purchased the site around two years ago. While the site continues to be immensely popular, it has given Six Apart some serious setbacks, particularly with “customer interaction” as they have faced a lot of lashback for draconian policy implementations. In fact, it seems that Six Apart has had a serious PR battle with their own users that has probably contributed to them deciding to dispose of the site.
As such, they have decided to sell it. LiveJournal will be taken over by a Russian media firm called SUP, the financial terms of which aren't being disclosed. Will being acquired by a new firm result in even more policy changes? Will the infamous blogging site be doomed or saved by such an action?
