Halo 3 fans everywhere rejoice, for three new multiplayer maps have been released today via Xbox LIVE Marketplace, as part of the Heroic Map Pack. New maps include three brand-new areas called Standoff, Rat's Nest and Foundry, in which every single object can be edited in any way a player sees fit.

In addition, Bungie will add a “New Maps Only” option to ensure that users are partnered up with other Halo players who just want to experience the new maps. The maps will cost you 800 Microsoft points today (which translates to $10), but come Spring 2008, all three maps will be made free to download in time for the release of a new series of multiplayer maps by Bungie.

  1. I hate how they use XBL to charge everyone for everything. I really wish they would give them out as a way of promoting the game, not a way to get more money from the loyal fans.
