There is another setback in Google's acquisition of DoubleClick, as the FTC has asked for and received more time to “consider” the impact of the deal. Unlike before, neither Google nor the FTC will comment on the situation.

Google has faced issues on both sides of the Atlantic with this deal, including delays in Europe and strong complaints coming from many organizations in the U.S. Google is still hopeful about the deal and believes it will stand up. The longer the deal is stalled, though, the more time competitors like Microsoft have to gain ground on them.
