The holiday was hot for online retail giant Amazon.com. The company today announced the 2007 holiday season finished as its best ever, with its busiest day being December 10. On that day, customers ordered more than 5.4 million items, or 62.5 items per second.

One of the top sellers was - unsurprisingly - Nintendo's Wii system, which were sold at a rate of approximately 17 per second when they were in stock. Among personal computers, HP was clearly the leader, with five products in Amazon's top ten "Bestsellers in Computers & PC Hardware" list (as of this writing), but Apple's $1,300 white 120 GB MacBook captured the top spot. The least expensive computer on the list, at No. 15, is the $399 Linux-based Asus Galaxy with a 7-inch screen and 4 GB of flash memory rather than a hard drive.
