During the Taiwan Embedded Forum, AMD announced the addition of three new processors and a chipset to their embedded roadmap. The AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core processors TL-56 and TL-62 offer 64-bit application performance and low power, while the new Sempron 3700+ offers additional performance. These new processors can be coupled with the 690-based AMD M690E chipset, which can playback high definition content for embedded applications.

AMD has high hopes for its embedded products and expects strong sales in the digital signage, casino gaming and point-of-sale system markets. For more information on AMD’s embedded solutions visit their website.
