Panasonic announces ship date for 32GB SDHC card
Panasonic today announced the release date for what it claims is the world’s first 32GB SDHC memory card sporting the fastest SDHC speed classification of 6. The card will have a maximum data transfer speed of 20MB/s and is due to ship in April.
According to the press release, the massive 32GB of storage capacity gives the card enough space to store up to 12 hours of HD video at 1440 x 1080i and four hours of full 1920 x 1080i HD video. At $699, pricing for the card is as big as its storage capacity though. On a related note, SanDisk is also making the jump to 32GB capacity in April with a $350 Ultra II SDHC card capable of writing data at 15MB/s.
