Panasonic today announced the release date for what it claims is the world’s first 32GB SDHC memory card sporting the fastest SDHC speed classification of 6. The card will have a maximum data transfer speed of 20MB/s and is due to ship in April.
According to the press release
, the massive 32GB of storage capacity gives the card enough space to store up to 12 hours of HD video at 1440 x 1080i and four hours of full 1920 x 1080i HD video. At $699, pricing for the card is as big as its storage capacity though. On a related note, SanDisk is also making the jump to 32GB capacity in April with a $350 Ultra II SDHC card capable of writing data at 15MB/s.
