AMD has just brought out version 8.2 of its Catalyst driver package for users of Radeon graphics cards. Hardware-wise, there are a bunch of fixes for CrossFire and HDMI, while on the software side AMD has improved the functionality and usability of the OverDrive overclocking feature.

AMD claims the new drivers improve DirectX 10 performance in Company of Heroes by as much as 20% across all Radeon HD 2000- and 3000-series graphics cards, while those running CrossFire multi-GPU setups can expect a performance increase of as much as 30% in the same title. As for bug fixes, Quake Wars, World of Warcraft, and Doom 3 all received attention.

The Catalyst 8.2 graphics drivers are available for Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows XP 32-bit, and Windows XP 64-bit. You can learn more about this particular revision by reading the rest of the release notes here.
