Asustek orders mass amounts of Sempron CPUs for E-DT?

Might Asus be expanding their Eee line with Semprons? That certainly seems likely, with sources saying that the company has placed a massive order with AMD for their newer Sempron processors. Even though Asustek is planning to use Intel's upcoming Shelton platform for their new line of low-cost desktops, E-DT, they might be getting cold feet considering it is Intel's intention to directly compete with them.

If that is the case, Asustek has a lot of incentive to rely on AMD processors as well as Intel's. This may put AMD back into a position they were years ago, competing with Intel largely on price rather than performance. The actual amount of CPUs ordered is just rumored, anywhere up to a million units.
