SLI has put a huge new tax on desktop systems, particularly power supplies. It has gone so far as for Nvidia and others to create SLI certification programs, due to how ambiguous power ratings on PSUs can be. Corsair is announcing what they claim is the world's first 1000W power supply certified for three-way SLI systems.

The Corsair HX1000W is expected to be demoed at CeBIT 2008 next week, bringing with it a host of components and a manufacturing design that enables it to withstand the tremendous load of three cards. Corsair claims it is able to supply full power even when operating at up to 50⁰C, when most components are sold at their 25⁰C ratings. It sports two transformers, dual 12V rails, and more.
