Hulu goes live with free TV shows, movies
After a few months of private beta, Hulu, the online video joint venture between News Corporation and NBC is finally live and available to all U.S. residents, with recently added content from new partners Warner Bros, MGM, and Lionsgate.
The service, announced a year ago, was greeted skeptically as a rival to YouTube but has won over some of its harshest critics for its focus on professional content, (supposedly) unobtrusive advertising model, and easy-to-use design. In addition to offering ad-supported streaming of both current and past TV shows, Hulu will also offer full-blown movies and programming from the NBA, NHL and NCAA. If you'd like to try out Hulu for yourself you can head over to their website.
