Even though Toshiba conceded the hi-def fight to Sony and other BDA members, the HD DVD group still had cleanup to do. Today, the HD DVD group sent a message to its members, informing everyone that the group was officially being dissolved, along with the website shutting down. It's been over a month since Toshiba announced the bad news to HD DVD supporters, making this not even close to being a surprise. You can see the notice itself on the HD DVD Promotional Group site.

Certain vendors, such as Best Buy and Circuit City have been offering various kickbacks and incentives for people that have found themselves with equipment the manufacturers have abandoned.
