Apple sells out of iPhones online, 3G model imminent?
Apple has announced that they are sold out of the iPhone at their online stores in both the US and UK, further fueling speculation that the company is getting ready to launch a new model of the coveted device featuring support for faster 3G wireless technology.
Customers looking for iPhones aren’t totally locked out, however. The company confirmed that its brick-and-mortar stores and its partners should still have units available, but the mere fact that Apple is pointing to its retail outlets suggests that it won't be stocking back up and could be clearing out product inventory ahead of a major upgrade. Though still unconfirmed, Apple’s 3G iPhone is widely expected to be unveiled in June at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
