Microsoft sells 10 million Xbox 360s in the U.S.
Microsoft has hit a milestone for sales of their beloved Xbox 360, with the figures reaching over 10 million sold in the U.S. since release. The console still lags behind in total sales to the Wii, but in U.S. sales figures alone seems to have them beat, with Nintendo at 8.8 million. Aggregate sales for the 360 are approaching 20 million.
The increase in sales has corresponded directly to an increase in the number of Xbox Live subscribers, which is now at 12 million, meaning more than half of Xbox 360 owners use the service. There is a mention of the GTA IV release having an impact on sales, with 40 percent of recent 360 sales going hand in hand with a purchase of that game.
